Although the firm of Elkington and Company is known for its high quality electroplated silver, the company also manufactured sterling silver. This beer jug, decorated with inebriated putti and surrounded by hop vines was exhibited as part of Elkington's display at the 1855 Paris Exposition Universelle. This jug is a later re-issue of the original design.
